When compared to GeForce GTX 295, its performance ranges between 25 percent (25% slower) to 95 percent (almost 2x faster), another broad range.

The graph only shows vs. GTX 285, but the article also mentions GTX295.. we'll know soon enough!

As usual now GTX295s and 4890s will become quite cheap!

GTX 300 series will also be very interesting... fight is back on as the economy recovers!!

Nvidia confident that GT300 wins over 5870

Several people confirm

Nvidia is still not revealing any details about its chip that we still call GT300 but one thing is getting quite certain. A few people who saw just leaked performance data on ATI's soon to launch Radeon HD 5870 have told Fudzilla that they are absolutely confident that GT300 will win over Radeon HD 5870.

Since GT300 has its GX2 brother they should not fear much against Radeon 5870 X2 whenever that comes out, as if Nvidia wins a single chip battle, they can win the dual one as well.

We can only confirm that GT300 is not a GT200 in 40nm with DirectX 11 support. It’s a brand new chip that was designed almost entirely from the ground up. Industry sources believe that this is the biggest change since G80 was launched and that you can expect such level of innovation and change.

The launch as far as we know is still slated for late November and hasn’t been confirme

Let the battle begin :rolleyes::rofl:
But honestly i like to see ATI beats nVidia :) nVidia bl00d suckers..!! what abt you...:P

If I have 30k for my next VGA, I'll buy whatever VGA that performs best in that price range.. ATI or nVIDIA doesn't really matter!

Buy a power generator if you gonna get a X2 :P
TDP around 376W IIRC

According to rumors this has a idle 27W and peak 188W power draw. With $399 MSRP,it will get price/performance and performance king.I mean dude,388mm^2 in 40 nm for 2.15 billion transistors? Thats so awesome :)

well the HD5870 has 1600 shaders so its theoretically two times faster than a HD4870, its probably even faster than that because of other shader optimizations, it will De Throne the GTX295 as the fastest single PCB graphics Accelerator, GT300 on the other hand is a completely new GPU made from ground up, its execution model is drastically different, theres a good chance it will end up faster than a HD5870, but according to some people the yields of the new GPU is low as 1.7% so it will be some time till we see the GT300 in action. and also lets not forget the Larrabee also LOL.

ATI CARD DON'T HAVE CUDA AND PHYS X .NVIDIA CARDS USE HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS . ATI CARDS USE GOOD QUALITY MATERIALS.ATI CARDS GET HEAT QUICK LIKE AMD PROCESSORS .THAT'S WHY ATI CARDS ARE CHEEP

Ofcourse ATI doesn't have CUDA and PhysX because they have ATI Stream and Havok

Infact, transcoding while CUDA enabled & ATI Stream enabled, ATI uses less CPU power and less time to get the job done than nVidia, but nVidia PhysX maybe a bit mature than ATI's Havok!

As for the low quality material, can I ask you how do know for sure? Any reliable source you can give us to read about it! I'm interested to know too!

I've used nVidia and ATI both, never had any heat problems with any of them with stock settings!

Most of them are married to their brands!!:P:P:P:P:P The sad thing is they think that their brand is the best! never read a review!
I think this is some kind of disease that is spreading wildly across most EK members!!:oo::oo::oo:

Closed Standards like Physx don't exist a long time because Developers gets in trouble when coding for multiple API's (one for nVidia one for AMD), the future of High Performance computing will be on the hands of either Open CL or DirectX Compute, that comes with DX11, I really wish Physx will be a thing of the past by 2011.
