Sixteen feared dead, over two dozens injured- Ampara

Fifteen civilians, including three children and a SL Army soldier were feared to be amongst the dead, according to the latest figures received through sources in the General Hospital, Ampara.
A total of 16 persons are feared dead including 11 females and 05 males due to the explosion triggered inside a Bibile, Badulla bound civilian transportation bus from Ampara, at Konduwatuawana, 05 kilometers North West of Ampara, on 02nd April, at 12.10p.m.
Hospital sources confirmed that three children were among the dead.
According to military sources the explosion was yet another tracherous act of the reckless terrorist outfit, with callous disregard to civilian lives.
Meanwhile, the Ampara General Hospital sources said that 14 bodies were received, while the reported two dozens of civilian casualties are feared to rise in numbers. Two SL Army soldiers also sustained injuries.
Reports quoting military officials at Ampara said, that the bomb is believed to be laden inside the bus, on a baggage rack. Adding to the latest reports, the military officials said that investigations were under way at the site of the explosion.
