I don't think it's as demanding as people thought it would be. It doesn't seem to have "ground breaking" graphics. Most people said it would be only DX10, but it's not the case. Maybe DX10 would have a lot of better graphics.

yeah if it was only dx10 many people would get really unhappy. you can only buy a DX 10 card if you 300+ dollars. the midrange DX 10 cards like the 8600gt and gts are no t even released yet

Yeah. You know, there are 8800GTS 320MB cards for around US$280 at Newegg.com. Wow!

And one more thing, coolaler (an overclocker) of www.xtremesystems.org has got hold of 8600GTS and has compared the 3DMark06 scored of 8600GTS and 7900GTX. 7900GTX is has the higher score :(

But in DX10 games, 8600GTS will outshine 7900GTX in bother quality and performance. :)

well that has to happen!! the only exception was with the 5900xt and the 6600gt. and that's with the old forceware's the new forceware drivers would be optimized and the bugs would be fixed!! anyways the the 7900gtx has more memory bandwidth and good faster memory. so even if the 8600 uses superior architechture it's gonna get bottlenecked there

7900GTX doesn't have faster memory, AFAIK, but will have more bandwidth because of the 256bit bus width.

However, we can't really compare the core architecture because Geforce 8 has unified shader processors and old generations had separate vertex and shader processors.

Nobody knows it. It will most probably be released in Fall of 2007 (USA)
