its the speed of u r LAN... so its normally 100MBPS... like if u connect to Internet via a router or from u r uni/school n/w then u'll c 100Mbps... but its not u r Internet connection's speed....

anyways europe internet is crap compared to Singapore malaysia korea and japan. in britain only recently they started VDSL on commercial status and japan has beeen doing that for years... singapore has a project that gives a ADSL connection for every home and they are thinking of free WIFI for metropolital areas. and some crazy dudes are demanding 100mbps... lol and in japan almost all are VDSL in metropolitan areas..
