OK, I couldnt find any thread running on discussing favourite books or authors. So lets start laying them out one by one :)
Mine are (In no particular order)
Discworld series - By Terry Pratchett
Angels and Demons - By Dan Brown
Rama series - Arthur C. Clarke and Gentry Lee
Chandra Sancharakayo - (Translation of "A fall of moondust") - By Arthur C. Clarke
Gamburu Muhuda - (Translation of Deep Range) - By Arthur C. Clarke
Saba Minisekuge Kathawak - (Translated Russian true story of this guy who felw after both his legs were amputated (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexei_Petrovich_Maresiev)) - By Boris Polevoi
Uruma Laddo - Translation of Wuthering Heights - By Emily Bronte
Well thats all that comes to my mind right now :) will add up later

ya but i really dont have a interest in Reading Books
and i never read novels and stuff.. but i read Harry Potter. but not the whole book some of chapters.. thats all

Lord of the rings I,II,II (J.R.R.Tolkein)
Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle)
The Da Vinci code, Angels and demons, digital fortress & The deception point (Dan brown)
Fountains of paradise, 2010, 2061 & 3001 (Dr. Arthur C. Cleark)
and of course I just LOVE Archie's comics, TinTin (Geroge Remi or better known as Herge) and Asterix (Uderzo and Goszini)

Its not that hard once u start reading ;) I started reading my first book of ACC when i was in 5 or 6 i think, the first one was the sinhala translation of Deep Range and the second one was the sinhala translation of Fall of Moondust. They are not advanced at all :) No honestly ! :)

@ Kulendra> yahh mate..I shud try 'em sometime when my engine's runnin normal..lol. K.Jayathilake's stories are gud man. and the Gini Avi Saha Gini Keli series was gr8..stories based on villages are nice ..I remember reading Niranandaya over n over again..

I've read afew too, have to agree that they are among the top in the sense of plot. I m not sure if I read all the books though. How many sinhala translations have been published?

Almost all I guess..ever read the preface?? u'll be amazed at the bs Chandana Mendis comes up wid :lol:

ya men.. so coz of that i had to read.. ekai.. eth i didnt read much.. coz i have lots of work..

err well , will do it the next time i get my hands on one :) I usually skip the prefaces intros etc etc. Sometimes I even start reading from the end of the book when the suspense gets too much ;)

Well i liked all of Dan Browns books
and Nothern Lights by phillip Pullman (da film golden compass was based on)
