No, not yet. Didn't tell dad yet. I can buy this no problem (got the $$$ ;)), but then I will lower my chances of buying a DX10 video card :( Anyway, I don't think I will be able to play games much in the final year of Uni, so I'm leaning towards the monitor. Let's see how it turns out.

BTW, this is the only DVI monitor I could find at Unity :S

The only problem is whatever the specs speaks or whatever a person feels, the real feeling might differ to the person actually using it. It's not as easy as assessing a CPU or a Video card :(

well if i'm on a CRT 15", 17" then i'll go for a good 19" LCD before an DX10 VGA. I will only give RAM some priority than this kinda monitor change.

Anyway, the good thing is that I can transfer this monitor to the other PC which dad is currently using, without having need to sell it, throw it away or keep it unused :)

Price is fine. I can be satisfied with a Rs.5000 difference with USA price.

ViewSonic monitors I could find today were more than Rs.33000 and with no DVI and lower specs that this. Considering these, this is a very good deal as far as I'm concerned.

BTW, I'm not too concerned about the aesthetics anyway :D

This is the response to that question. :)
I played NFSC on a 8ms LCD, and didn't really see any problems. On the same monitor, I felt the desktop was not displayed crisply.

And its good for your eyes as well. However the snag is the single direction viewing but that's hardly a problem when considering the benifits.
