It's a difficult task. The tone and the tone color of that song is really diferent. you get a bit of a rock feeling when you listen to that song.

For me..a Video will kill that song... I have my own views & the mood for that song & a video will ruin it... Also its a kind of song that has a darker/heavier tone than other songs & a vid will never capture the true feeling u get while listening to it..

He is popular because of the quality of his songs & yeah..talent...
Kalhara for me is not a popular pop culture artist.. He does his own thing and he doesn't care that much if people like it or not
So he has his own dedicated true fan base unlike these modern so called Pop icons... (dan hitiya dan na..album eka release unama hitiya, nathikota na..)

One of the best examples I can think of is the Nu-Metal band 'Tool'.. I'm sure u have listened to their stuff... they are awesome..everybody luvs there albums... but they dont have many popular singles or videos... but u know how fans luv the sheer quality of their music without any Popular Singles or Music Vids.. And Tool likes it that way I think...same goes 4 Kalhara I guess

True machang... General Pop will always be Music 4 the masses.. Its all just Quantity over quality.....Just look at all the shit Pop albums that keep on turning up even from the west.. just out of curiosity I gave a listen to Gwen Steffany's new album (cause I loved her stuff when she was back in 'No Doubt')..GOOD GOD..the album was pure CRAP!!! still I'm thinking why wold people pay money to buy this kind of stuff :angry:

SL is not much different... find a catchy tune..try to build a verse of 4 lines..then add another verse or 2 of Rap.. (Thats a must ne..)..and wow u've got a hit single..
Then all the other artists must carbon copy the method & produce the same kind of stuff by the truck load...talk about the modern Sinhala Pop scene getting Stagnated...

After Daddy came up with a refreshing break with Masina & even a better follow up 2nd song with their own music and for once .....NO RAP in a modern Sinhala pop song..thats about it for the entire 4-5 years of this so called pop wave...

Thats why artists like Kasun Kalhara & even Sangeeth (U gotta checkout his album man..it is simply awesome..that guy has an awsome voice) are Gods among Insects..
