Intel, according to Hector Ruiz, has "done a good job" in closing the gap with AMD, but he said it's taken Chipzilla four years to do that.

We said that AMD had a clear lead over Intel of between 18-24 months and that there was no doubt the chip giant would react as quickly as it could. That meant AMD had to do an awful lot to ensure it kept the lead over Intel because Chipzilla is best when its back is against the wall.
