For years, we learned the solar system have 9 planets. But, not anymore! We hear stories about certain family members kicked out of families, for their mis behavior. More or less, the same happened to Pluto! :-)
Pluto's failure to maintain a unique path around the Sun, (Mischievous behavior??) was one of the reasons for the decision.

"Pluto's out," said Michael Brown, the California Institute of Technology astronomer whose discovery last year of a planet-like object called 2003 UB313 reignited the long-running debate over whether Pluto should be considered a planet. "People are going to be unhappy, but it's the right thing to do. This is a great moment in science."

"It's all my fault," Brown said at a press conference at Caltech Thursday. "I may go down in history as the guy who killed Pluto."

"Poor little Pluto," said Patricia Tombaugh, the 93-year-old widow of the man who discovered Pluto, Clyde Tombaugh. "Kids are going to be upset."

Some parents who had grown up memorizing the names of the planets, using mnemonics like "My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas" seemed more distressed.

"I feel like something's missing," lamented Micaela Chambers, 39, of Granada Hills, Calif., as she played with her son outside of the science center.

Well, I feel sad too :-( . What do we do? Shall we organize a demonstration at Lipton Circus, "Bring back my Pluto!" or "American neo-colonialists killed poor Pluto!"
