Our friends at Fudzilla (http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=640&Itemid=34)reveals that the current RV630 samples runs at 800 MHz. and pointed out the the final silicon revision shall be A14. Normally ATI launches A13 as the final version but obviously something went wrong with that chip so the company decide to move for the A14 version.

The same issue with NVIDIA 8600 GT/GTS cards, the card runs with a memory controller of 128 bits wide. This again will have a great impact when high resolution and high AA/AF is turned on

A summary what we know about the RV630 (HD 2600XT)

Manufacturing process : 65nm
GPU Core clk / mem clk : GDDR4 800MHz / 2200MHz (2x1100)
Memory size/width : 256M/128 bits
AVIVO, UVD
Damn! 128bit width? When R600XT's bus is 512bit wide? Shite!

Hope they'll build a X2600XTX with 256bit bus width.

Otherwise the distinction will be too much, than people will think they are being harassed by the HAVE's.
