Everybody did well.Remember Dilhara is a wicket taker no an economical bowler.His sole purpose is to take wickets.
Batting was very good.I mean how do you feel batting in a drizzle ,ball takes two mins,damping off pitch,u r heavy with wet clothes???

We would hav surely won if we had our match without stops.
Remember even we didnt got a target when two overs were cut off.(f*** Duckvert/Luis.12 balls and 12 runs deducted!!)

Well, you really can't blame the Lankans, this was just Gilchrist's day, and on his day, to be very frank, no one can stop him. I don't think even McGrath & Co. would have got Gilchrist out. Besides, in what sort of world do you play a 38 overs final!! :angry: They could have as well put it off to the next day!

There was nothing much wrong with the bowling, didn't many of you notice that other than Gilly, no - one really hit the ball much!

Don't blame Fernando too much, this is his first World Cup final and he is prone to nerves. The moisture on the pitch, to be fair, suddenly disappeared, making Vaasy kinda useless, but, all in all, THE AUSSIES DESERVED TO WIN! Russel never get to bat a good innings coz he is low in order.Once he got a good chance @ 57/5.Thats the day he scored his only 100 and Match was won by us.He has a good strike rate rather than shown.In past our batting order collapsed drastically so he had to hold rather than batting.
If u think he didnt scored well in the CWC 2003,U must first point to Mahela who scored 13 runs lower than him in that.
BTW he will not play in International scenario anymore.

Chief Seatel is a very very good person.I am surprised that how u pointed out at him.Its not a kind of metaphor.

Rain: Come on, this is a world cup final. It has to 50 overs!!!
Batsmen: Sangakkara and Sanath got out for rash shots. They played well until then, but if those two didn't get out (playing rash shots), we could have had a chance.
Bowlers: They didn't bowl well, especially Dilhara. Wayward like hell!!! Whenever he bowled a good bowl, it's a no ball :angry:

One more thing. Why couldn't our bowlers swing and they could? :confused:
We had the better chance of swinging the bowl, because the air was more humid in the first part of the match, at least for an hour or so. Damn! No wing = Vaas is just another bowler with good line and length. Not dangerous at all.


Agree in a way. Mainly it's bowlers fault. Aussies improvised the weather factor and scored 281 for 38 which is a good score for 50 overs. 220-250 would've been a gettable score for SL. And we had a bowl after the rain and interestingly the bowl didnt swing much for us. Malinga is the only person who bowled well. Aussies had a plan for the 38 overs and like they said, they were ready for vaas and murali. They showed it. Dilhara the worst in this match but cant only blame him cuz the more experienced bowlers couldnt do much as well.

Weather might coursed us to loose cuz Aussies would definitely not pass 320 or so if it was a 50 over match. But we cant justify our loss.
