Guys/gals do you know how much power your computer uses:confused:I dont think you ever worried about that.Besides still our parents pay the electricity bill.:D

Here is the best programme available to check the power consumption of your PC with all da parts included.You have to add the monitors power consumption to it and u will have the full power use of ur computer in Watts.


Attention
1.Use 90% at the CPU utilization(TDP) box.
2.Please add ur OverClocking details if u OC.
3.Additional PCI-E cards mean without the VGA card.
4.Select external USB devices without KB and mouse.
5.Put system load @ 100%.
6.Put capasitor aging @ 25%.
7.Fan controller means a unit that has meters to control ur fan speeds.Not the ones u made or included in the fan.
8.LCDs mean that little LCDs mounted in to case.
9.Cold cathodes,TEC coolers are not available here.:D

Post without monitor power draw.U can know it by adding 100W for 17"CRT & 75W for 15" CRT.

Actually it should be higher. No power supply can do 100% efficiency. Best ones will do 80%. Normal ones will do 60%.

Motherboard = no idea, but less than 25W because it's a 965 bases board
RAM = operatioanl 1.296x2 + 1.872 = 4.464W, say 5W
VGA = 20-60W (X800GTO 18-48, X850XT 26-66W so mine should be somewhere in the middle, more towards X850XT's)
Hard drive = 13W max
DVDRW = 22W max (if not operational, negligible)

These are NOT theoretical values. These are actual values gathered from various sites.

But PSU efficiency will affect here. But we set it to 100% in that form. That's not accurate at all.

Seems you are correct. But, that's not only impractical, but also false. What's the system load actually means? Every component is not used the same way and/or at the same time.

Or much less. For example, right now, the CPU is idle, VGA card is in 2D mode, DVD Burner is idle. That's a lot of power :D

i was tinking of buyin a 3500+ clawhamma, but wedak na neU can OC and get that performance.But dont compare with a Sandiego 3700+.It has 1MB cache.So leave it out.Also to save power u can go for a venice core 3000+,then OC into mine-3200+.3000+will be 8k @ Mathara and 3200+ will be 17.5k @ EPSI. :D

It's not that dangerous to flash BIOS these days. My mothetboard recovered from a bad flash, with no problem at all. :D

Most of the bugs they fix are not experienced by me. But, I feel the stability has improved enormously. I didn't like my motherboard at first. Now it's super cool. Only thing I miss is overclocking :(

Thats what was expected with backward compatibility.Users were very much frustrared when AM2 released while S939 hadnt much time to fiddle around.So that will be utterly needed.And AMD will not hopin for a screw up while already they r borrowing money.The ATI acquire cost them 4.1 billion USD.Thats a huge loss while a gud thing.Now at least they hav there own chipsets which was a gr8 drawback in the fast.Even sumtimes nVidia didn't got em right.
