With that price tag, I don't think anyone would buy it, considering the fact that the performance gains are very small.

As Anand mentions, every GTX model can be overclocked beyond the speed of Ultra. So, why bother buying an Ultra?

It looks like basically a OCed 8800GTX.

It is an overclocked, over volted GTX with a new cooler and nVidia are expecting US$180+ more for that.
Wonder what 8900 series will be like.

A 8800GTS 320MB SLI rig will smoke this card, and will cost about US$300 less. What the hell are nVidia thinking?

I'm guessing PureVideo 2 will be making it into the 65 nm shrink/improvement in the architecture. Of course, with this release, it appears as though we won't be seeing those cards until Oct/Nov of this year. To me it is pretty amazing that NVIDIA is being so conservative with their process choices. TSMC has been offering 65 nm since last year (admittedly for much simpler ASICs than a 680 million transistor behemoth). Apparently too much risk with that as compared to the 80 nm process they went with on the G84/G86.

U can show that u hav money.Specially in LK when EPSI brings ASUS ones which will cost about 3x high than original.

8800 Ultra = factory overclocked 8800GTX for another $200.
It is meant to spoil HD 2900XTX's thunder, but 8800 Ultra will end-up being another 6800UE (cherry-picked GPUs = very limited quantities).
8800GTS 640MB utterly crushes it for performance/price in the high-end segment.
8800GTX can overclock just as high without too much trouble.
