She sets out to find her father after discovering the "father" she is living with isn't her biological father. She hitch hikes and then meets and is taken in by Tom Hoxey (Mooney). Tom and Summer head back to his house (which he shares with his mother Gaia) for the night. However Summer soon realizes that she just made a huge mistake. When Summer wakes up Tom informs her that he has just changed her plans as Summer gets hit over the head by Gaia. She wakes up in the basement. In the basement Tom has grown a human garden. In order to survive Summer must form a close relationship with Tom.
