Hey everyone,

The problem with my PC is, sometimes (about 2 - 3 times a day), when I am surfing, an error message comes, saying that 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' and the IE gets stuck! I don't know why, but it always comes, and it is getting quite annoying!

The same thing happens to my Windows Live Messenger, only that the error message comes much more frequently and WLM closes. The worst part is, it only happens with my e-mail account!  When my cousin uses WLM with his e - mail, nothing happens!

My friend told that it is spyware and to use "SpySweeper". I tried and caught a lot of spywares, but still IE and WLM keep crashing!

Does anyone know what the problem is and how I could solve it??

Do you update Windows? Windows update is the first place you should use to fix stability issues.

Also, making an image as soon as you install Windows and configure your software is a good idea, if you can't keep your PC clean. Then, if something goes wrong, all you have to do is restore that image and everything will be back to the state it was when you made the backup. This won't take longer than 10minutes, unlike reinstalling Windows might take upto 1-3hours even if you are quite tuned at it :D

Yes you need a genuine copy or just a CD Key that's not blacklisted (yet). If you didn't pay for the OS and face problems, try to live with it :D

There is a updates package called AutoPatcher XP. Google for it. Download the latest (April) version. It will install all the updates released up to now.

Check for viruses. Then use a good anti-spyware software and keep the Realtime Protection enabled. I guess it will work.
