Intel motherboards are real pain in the asses when it comes to installing RAM. Yesterday I installed a new RAM and had real time making it understand that the RAM has changed and let the motherboard make the necessary changes (internally).
We - Chamitha and I - had to remove the RAMs several times to get it to work after about 30 minutes. We cleared the BIOS and it didn't work. We put it to recovery mode using the jumper on the motherboard and it didn't work. We changed the jumper to configuration mode and still didn't work. Then we removed all the RAMs and installed each still and started the PC after each stick was installed. Finally it gave in. Whew! I ain't gonna play with the RAM on this motherboard again.
P.S.
Once it starts to work, it works flawlessly. I remember I had the same experience with the previous RAM upgrade as well.

But you only installed one RAM stick ne? Who knows what sort of trouble it will give when you try to upgrade the RAM?

I know someone who has a 965 chipset, but it's not an Intel motherboard. Besides, he didn't upgrade the RAM after buying the PC.
