thanks for ur Concern... what we really want is to help Sri Lankan PPL first. listen this is our First step. we cant directly go to the higher level and take action on those ppl. we started slowly and as a small website now we are the Biggest and we really respect Sri Lankan Artists and we are so strict in these kind of stuff(Putting Free Album links). we cant take action on those Websites or Rapidshare links. but we are not going to support if some one try to do such things like putting Sri Lankan Artist Albums in the Filesharing websites and try to share it with others we are so strict. and we have to. if not Artist not gainin anything from his or her Talent. so dont think about International Market. think about Sri Lankan Market and Sri Lankan Artist...

I am not from RIAA or MPAA to run after those posts. I am too busy and almost all those links copied from other foreign sites. Anyway our vision is to support srilankan artists and promote them. What we are doing is helping srilankan artists and stopping the piracy from our level as we can. Since we are the largest entertainment site i think we can do something different and become a good example for all the others. :yes:

About the sue issue haha you know even someone post an album collections of srilankan artists they will not sue us coz they know we support them and work with them closely. They will only tell us to remove them. But if we get caught with international music and movies they will only send us a letters from lawyers and next day our server goes down from the US datacenter. Haha bro so this is not an effort to save from get sued.
About your last comment about sl music piracy and drugs I said it coz you were telling that all the other sites pirating music, and people living abroad doing it. its not a story, its a little concept. i and i think that it is a good way to look forward... where artists and file shares both can be happy. i am not asking you to apply it to elakiri??? i mean if you ever read it you will see that it cannot be applied to a single web site or something like that... it is a large scale plan... and it is made by some nice people, including lawyers... ;)

people buy albums cause they are fans of some artist or they kind of like the artist... and there music of course.... i don't think that it'll change cause they can download them through the net for free... i mean some people will not buy the album cause of that. but most of the people will still buy it. i have the favorite band.. and i have all of there music... i love em.. and if i ever get a chance to buy there album here... i will buy it. that is cause i like them... and not cause of i can't download there music online...

i think file sharing is good for artists... they just have to use there brains to earn money...

Man don’t live in dreams come down to earth. Lets say I legally allow people to download/collect Ranidu’s Album for Rs 200/- while album costs Rs 500/- in shops. In the same time some other well known srilankan site give the whole album for free.

no people will obviously download it for free! but downloading something is different from getting the original album from the shop. its different. it have its own feeling! do you feel like you buyed the album when you download it? even with the covers and all that? no, at least i don't feel like that! and thats my point. when you listen to music or when you enjoy someone's artistic creations, you get the feeling that you want to give him something... naturally... its the human way.. now not all people feel like that but most of the people do. so thats how artists have survived for all this time... they didn't survive because of copyright laws!

and you can never say that people who download it for free will buy the tracks if they can't get it for free...

Why can’t you remember what I told you before in this thread, post your vision or opinions about copyright law in another thread. But not in a thread where someone has done something which break rules. You are welcome to post your views and changes you like to see in copyright law in new thread, but we are taking action according to current standards so this is not the place to post your vision or dreams, Just simply start a new thread!

About lawsuits anyone can file a lawsuit against anything, so its about how you prove your point. Anyway RS hosting the files directly, Torrent tracks also giving connection information to the peers and intentionally supporting the illegal file sharing in well organized way. But in our scenario we are not supporting any illegal file sharing. Not letting even a 1KB file to download or intentionally support the sharing network. We are an open discussion forum. And our vision, goals not anywhere near that.

Copying stuff is human nature so we should not stop it? haha nice idea man.
