Paypal is the safe way to send or receive money worldwide. you can use paypal to buy or sell item on ebay. you need to have a debit card (Visa, master, solo, switch) and able to setup a direct debit . ( i think most of SL bank cards come with Direct debit function). once you fill the details paypal will deposit a small amount in your bank account. in my case it was £ 0.14 and £0.03 equal to Rs.50 FREE :D. so you will have to confim this two amounts to paypal after checking the bank statment to prove that the bank account is yours. thats all you have to do. your country doesn't matter as long as you have debit card from your bank.

what is the difference between western union and paypal. paypal takes 9 days to transfer the money from paypal balance to your bank account and with western union you get it instantly (not to your bank account but cash in hand)

true. basic account will be more than enough to get it start and buy anything online. but if you wanna go advance and start a small honest online business, there will be nobody to stop you too.
:) . if you live in australia, it is good to open an ebay account as well. you need 10 feed back score to start selling.

If you want to buy from ebay, yes you need to have an ebay account. after you succesfully bought the stuff, the seller will leave you a possitive 1 point (only if the seller is happy, same thing when you sell too). after you get 10 points you are verified ebay member and you can start selling with a fix price.

yes may be it is bcos you just have a basic account. to do a business and receive money you need to open a premium account. and you will need to be verified with paypal by direct debit too. when u setup the direct debit with paypal and your bank everything will be ok
