It doesn't support digital video in my LCD. I have heard that some people's monitors' digital out has completely burned because of this. I won't use analog, just for a stupid OS (especially Linux!)

Hell! DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is newer technology.

yea thats true.... but it doesn't mean that people can't hack the HW, or do some reverse engineering of windows drivers :D and btw linux runs on a lot of HW, a LOT more than windows can run on.. becuase linux is open source people can port it to any HW, thats the bottom line.

Goes to show that Linux is not for everyone.

BTW trying Debian stock kernel on new hardware is NOT recommended unless you're ready to hack with the scripts and kernel.
Debian is know to give Stable platforms but their strict policies means they dont have the latest versions but the sure as hell do have the most stable versions. Which is why its better suited for servers and work stations.

Now, I didn't say anything about Linux in general. I said Ubuntu feisty burns the DVI port of the LCD monitors. Period!

Linux may support all those things that you say they do, but when it comes to general home use, it can't match Windows. That's what really matters to me. Not Virtual reality or something that we don't use at present in the home environment.
