I lost my mobile phone on the 10th of May around 10-10.30 am while I was traveling on a crowded 138 Homagama-Pettah bus.
I was able to cancel my sim card and get a new one with the same number from Dialog. But still i'm unable to recover my phone. I knew there's a way to trace the phone using its IMEI number. But when I asked from Dialog they said I need to get a court order to do that! As an employed person I simply don't have time to do all these shits...So I gave up.
I would be really grateful if anybody in this forum can help me in this regard.
My phone was a Nokia 3200. It had a blue colour housing at the time of loss.
Its IMEI is 352942/00/472619/3
pls contact me through elakiri or mail me on [email protected]

thanks everybody for the encouragement & advices given. actually i'm not worried about the phone.
But I lost all my friends & relatives (including those who living abroad) contact numbers with the phone. So that's what making me sad. Because it's really hard to re-collect those contact info again!

P.S. Actually i'm not a new member to this site. Eventhough I haven't posted on forums I visited this site regularly to download new songs & videos since elakiri's inception!

Your best bet would be to befriend a techie at dialog or whatever your service provider is.

Tracking would require access to satellites and unless there are some geniuses out there with illegal access, the only people who would be able to do this is your service provider.

Sorry about your loss, and don't worry too much man, just get yourself a new phone and once you recover your contacts back them up on a PC or even better, a simple old fashioned, trustworthy, physical address book.

My mobile phone was lost yesterday(18th May) at pettah bus stand. I went police and they said to go to TRC. My phone was a nokia 6030. It seems to be useless by going here and there to find my stallen phone. So finally I taught to buy a new one.
