Hi all,
i got a EVGA 9800Gt as a replacement for my 8800GT from slmega. it worked like a charm at the begining n all of a sudden start to give heck of troubles.
to be clear i played NFS shift, Prototype, company of heroes: tales of valor, COD5 using this card.
but now it cant even work with small 3rd application like CHESS is windows 7. pc gets frozen. even it got stuck once i dragged a movie. i contacted slmega people n they r saying it can be a issue with my Power unit. but whats contradicting is i used to play all those games with the same power unit. Sometimes display goes black and returns and there is a small msg from nvidia coming saying "Display Driver NVidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version 195.XX Stopped Responding and has successfully recovered"
i upgraded my drivers to the latest still the same. so it was a pain n i removed it and pluged my old ASUS 7600GS which works perfectly.
does anyone have any ideas what wrong. do i need to upgrade my power unit. coz im bit low on money these days. following are the specs of my computer for more referece:
CPU: Intel core2duo E6750 2.6Ghz
M/B: Asus P5N-D Nvidia 750i chipset
RAM: 2G Corsair 800Mhz dual channel
HDD: 2 SATA 160G n 240G plugged in
ROM: one asus DVD writer
Power unit: Mercury 450W Model AP2450
2 additional cooling fans running
O/S: windows 7 32-bit RTM
