Anyone can tell me whether it is possible to recover some files from a formatted hard disk??

Its really hard 2 recover files when its formatted!! A software based recovery software may prove useless!!! But don't give up!! Use File Scanvenger, Active@Undelete or similar data recovery software!!! But if u r not short of $$$ and the data is extremely valuable u can send the hard disk over seas for a data recovery lab for hardware based data recovery method!!!
P.S :- Never recover files to the same partition which u have the deleted files!!

It is possible.I hav even recovered data from burnt down HDDs.
Use handy recovery , GetDataback for FAT or NTFS 2.14(only version with da crack).They r good at recovering.Handy recovery is very good.U dont need time to examine.But a bit slow.But pls dont put anything on to recovering partitions.Leave them as is.And remeber to recover on to another drive.After recovering u can put data on to it.
BTW I f u deleted partitions too make sure u create them back with da same File system and the size.This would be a gr8 aid when recovering.

ahh!noticed u need some files..Go for handy recovery.SAN APIIT here posted its cracked version without setup.Find it.
