P965 Express for normal home to power user. Basicaly this model used to OC

G965 which has GMA X3000 on board graphics. mostly for intel digital home concept, low noise Viiv systems etc..

Q965 for Intel vPro platform, it has GMA 3000 graphics too.

no not about overclockin just which 1 is better than which.. n Y? Its basicaly for what you gonna use it for, normal use G965 is good since you get X3000 GFX which supports DX10 and around power of 6600. Thats enough for Vista and some normal games with new drivers for X3000. Anyway as i get to know intel has put a hardware lock in G965 chip which turns off asynchronous memory timings to protect X3000 engine. So you if you OC this not gonna reach anywhere near P965

I just want it for home use.. do u think i will b able to play carbon with the G965 chipset? caz i heard with one of those chipset carbon wont work. If not i will hav to get a seperate VGA card, im not that particuar in over clockin anyway.. just a little bit of OC will do.

carbon will work on X3000 but not in high resolutions and good FPS. Mostly thinking about the future you will need to buy a more powerful separate VGA if you are in to gaming. Currently G965 has some bios issues anyway i think they will fix and release new bios very soon. It'll not be a big problem if you are not going to OC.

So the only gud thing bout G965 over the P965 is that it has gud graphics.
Do u think it will be a gud idea for me to get the P965 n a 6500 FX 256 mb VGA?
n can u roughly tell me the prices of the G965 n the P9645 chipsets?

If u cant get anything like ASUS,MSI or Gigabyte(DFI,FOXCONN is not here)Intel will do the trick. But the boards will not hav OCing.Order is P<G I think.Dont knw much of them coz Im a Hardcore AMD.Dont trust evrything Intel site tells.Read sum reviews @ respectable sights b4 u go.Legitreviews,THG,Techpowerup,Anandtech r sum to mention. BTW P965 is da best in 2days market.Hav sum BIOS issues, released 6 BIOS updates and more will be.

If you are not going to OC seriously then go with G965 it's same or bit expensive than P965 board. You get the X3000 with it. Its way powerful than FX6500 with latest drivers. But today no FX6500 or onboard X3000 can be taken as a proper gaming chips. If you are in to gaming you will have to buy a better card in the future. But still you can play many games in mid-low resolution with these chips.

Its hard to find G965 boards. Anyway i get to know PC house had Gigabyte GA 965G DS3 for Rs17,000 now out of stocks. As Anusha said Asus P5B-E which is based on 965P costs around 19,000/- @ EPSI. There are some 965 based intel boards too. MSI etc... Normaly its like Rs.11,000++
