I would prefer C#.NET or VB.NET

Interfaces are so damn lovely if it is java...
But stil I prefer .NET and it is so easy coz most of the components are just drag and drop.

.NET is slow coz da concept is slow, n too much dependencies it needs da whole framework to run ...evn a simple 1 MB prog u need da whole framework which is abt 32 MB or so...too much 4 old machines but VB6 has only one dll dat is needed bcoz of da programin lang. msvbvm60.dll u knw sumthin .NET does nt allow u to go into da core...c billy knew dat sumthin was wrng wit VB6 dats y he stopd it n startd a new kinda lang. VB6 allows u to get into da core n to evn hook stuf wit "addressof" function

I say it depends on the task at hand. VB and the other RAD tools are good to get a working solution implemented fast. But if you are building, let say, a solution where every second counts and should consume very little resources then something more low-level like C or maybe even assembler.

Then if you consider web applications, the best would be to use an array of different scripting languages like ASP/PHP/Ruby/Perl. The reason being, web apps will definitely come under attack by script kiddies and the more you use less used technologies the harder you make it for an attacker also mixing your languages can also make more trouble for an attacker.

In SE maybe but there are more uses for programming languages. Like programs that run scientific calculations or other complex programs that need to be coded in the most efficient ways. :yes:
