I heard torrents work with a Proxy if you have Azureus. Maybe worth a shot.

use bitlord it works with http proxy and sock proxy. (only if ports rnt blocked)

i have done it in and it only works if ports rnt blocked. if ports r blocked use http proxy software and connect to a freeproxy on port 80.

machan i know abt DHCP....

short for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, a (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/protocol.html)pr otocol for assigning dynamic IP (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/D/IP_address.html)addresses to devices on a network. With dynamic addressing, a device can have a different IP address every time it connects to the network. In some systems, the device's IP address can even change while it is still connected. DHCP also supports a mix of static and dynamic IP addresses.

Dynamic addressing simplifies network administration because the software keeps track of IP addresses rather than requiring an administrator to manage the task. This means that a new computer can be added to a network without the hassle of manually assigning it a unique IP address. Many ISPs use dynamic IP addressing for dial-up users.

den most probably they would ve got the ports blocked via firewall but nevertheless chances r ya could dload wit utorrent but it ll be really slow with NAT and DHCP problems propping up.. da only work around i knw of is if ya have access to the main server or atleast to da router menu... which is not quite possible i d say..

If you are in an office, then your computer has a private IP which cannot be used by bittorrent clients. (As far as I know).

Do this.
Go to Start -> Run
Type cmd
On the command prompt type ipconfig

it will list some details and will have a entry called IP Address

10.0.0.0 – 10.255.255.255 or
172.16.0.0 – 172.31.255.255 or
192.168.0.0 – 192.168.255.255 or
169.254.0.0 – 169.254.255.255

yuo have a private IP.

As fo the router/NAT/firewall issues, I have run Azureus with a Public IP behind a firewall and a proxy. However the catch was that there were two ports open for trusted incoming connections and I forced Azureus to run on those two. I dont think it would work with a private IP.

ok as far as i know you cant connect using any bittorrent or gnutella clients. (or anything else for that matter). But let me check back on Azureus, there might be a possibility. However can u fidn out what ports are allowed for incoming? That you may have to ask from your IT dept and DONT TELL that its soemthing to do with p2p thingys :)

hey guys

try this too

1) type your default gateway ip address on ur web browser

2) if u are using a router goto router configeration main page and type all the necessory login details

3) without going into troubled deep water just enable the DMZ and type your PCs IP address on the textbox infront.

job done

all the incoming traffic including torrents, viruses, hijackers will be forwaded to your PC and onse you finish downloading disable the DMZ from ur ROUTER (which is runing DHCP and NAT)

you may lose ur job by messing around with company PCs ;) ;)

WARNING
enabling DMZ is very risky and it will open ur PC to outside world without firewalls

Wouldnt you need admin level access for that? and anyway I dont think offices use this "type-the address-on-the-browser' type routers (or atleast any sensible company) nyway worth a try.

Sorry my mistake
i was talking about home & small office networking with adsl.

if u dont have them nets forget about torrents.
