Muchang i can help you a little bit on this coz im in to automotives too....bro... dont hurry your self as shaggy said.... first educate your self about cars, different makes and models..decide your budget and go for a good car...

here are some tips for you..

* it is clear that your main concern is not performance but economy so go for a common family type sedan (common models have abundance of spare parts)

1)go for a 1500cc car and not a 1300cc

2) it is ok to buy a one which has done up to 120000km-140000km on the clock (valid only 4 petrol).. coz its resonable as it is a 300-**** / 301-**** car (age).

3) i dont no about you but i prefer it is good to go for a manual one ( you can save fuel + you feel that you are a man when you drive a manual....autos are for girls who donno enything)


according to my knowledge i know why you are in to 1300cc ... fuel economy ha? haa haa no bro 1300cc dont give you that much fuel economy... to be honest go for a 1500cc becoz most of the 1500cc cars have

1) fare power to weight ratio

2) 5th gear availability

you can achive a high fuel economy riding in the 5th gear .... you can use a 1600cc's 5th gear at 40kph and 1800cc's (1700cc diesal) 5th at 35kph (<< all are naturally aspirated)... engin goes smooth...actually what you are doing there is you drives your car at a high speed at a low rpm ( saves fuel)..... most sri lankan ppl never think about this aspect...they think "hammo 5th pawichhi koranne 100 pannahamane!!!.... podi capaciti eka thamai hodete fuel wadekoranne!!!" (*im not taking about cars under 1300cc) but finally when you compare the pros and cons of a low capacity engin with a mid capacity enging (1500) you will see a massive difference...specially in 1300cc engines will not give you enough acceleration...(normally, when you realise this you are too late ) and the engine tends to worn out very fast... but 1500cc is a decent choice (you are not a racer or not a snail) but if you need to be aggressive .... you should go for highr capacities with turbo or supercharged engines... ;) :yes:
