Miss Tourism Pageant in Sri Lanka
COLOMBO: Audiences in Sri Lanka will have the opportunity to witness the exciting Miss Tourism International Pageant with the participation of 75 Beauty Queens from 75 different countries.

The pageant will be hosted by Sebastian A.C. Perera, the Franchise Holder, who has successfully staged International Pageants in Sri Lanka in 1993, 1996, and 2002, and in India in 1997.

Perera is confident that the Miss Tourism International Pageant will undoubtedly boost the image of Sri Lanka since the 75 Beauty Queens when they get back to their home land will be interviewed on TV and they will tell the world that Sri Lanka is truly a Tourists' Paradise.

His move to be a franchisee saw him becoming the Franchise Director for many International Pageants including Queen of the World, Miss Globe International, Miss World University, American Dream Festival, Miss Bikini International, Dream Girl of the Year, Miss Model of Models, Miss All Nations, Miss Model of the World, Queen of The Year, Miss Hawaii Tropic, Miss Asia International, Miss International Pageant, Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. Globe Pageant to name a few.

Sebastian Perera was the first Asian to sponsor a beauty pageant in the Far East. He met Charlie See from Hollywood who later offered the Franchise of Miss Tourism International to him and the pageant was for the first time hosted in Sri Lanka in 1993.

Since then this Beauty Pageant has given a lot of exposure to Sri Lanka internationally and audiences can expect a fabulous show.

I feel like there are two sides of the story. currently the tourism in SL is going down the hill rapidly and this can be some kind of a campaign which can bring it even a inch up. Advertising in 75 countries is not some thing that Sri Lankan tourist bored can do over night. But this will do the trick.

How its gonna happen and where its not my concern over here. What we will gain is my concern.

There are enough worse and stupid things happen in this country than this one. If u really think about it strip parties @ schools and Gay&lesbian night clubs blooming. I think the real problem exist in side the country. Not in some 75 visitors.

So true, U know this one tourism guy told me that it,s the worst ever year that they had since 30 years. Although u guys not touched with the situation tourism arena is being hit from the worst storm caused by spoiled international image of Sri lanka.

For the sake of Tourism industries i see this is a wise move.

And c,mon guys this is the 21,st century no point in seeing these events as Cultural suicides.

U wont believe in some mega hotels in south they offer full bored lodgin for 5k-6k price. They are that much screwed up. There are people going jobless day by day in the industry. And sadly most of the people cant go finishing too due to the security measures in the sea. Just imagine how much revenue we lost by loosing trinco to terror again.

I have no objection that government should battle this off.
