A baby manta ray swims in a fish tank at Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Motobu. The female baby manta, about 1.9 metres (6.2 ft) in width, was born on June 16, 2007, the first manta ray born in the fish tank, an aquarium official said.

The propellers of an Eagle Air Beech 1900D aircraft disintegrate as it makes an emergency landing without wheels at Woodbourne Air Base in the New Zealand South Island town of Blenheim. Local media reported that none of the 15 passengers and two crew on board were injured when the plane made an emergency landing after diverting from Wellington airport when a fault was detected.

A Chinese sturgeon, which was injured and rescued earlier, is released into the Yangtze river in Shanghai. The fish, measuring approximately three metres (9.8 ft) long, was one of the 150 Chinese sturgeons released into the river on Sunday, according to Xinhua News Agency.
