Jawdropping good looks and a spectacular voice are qualities we take for granted with our favourite R&B stars, but a politics degree and Sri Lankan and Mauritian roots make Anusha a league apart from your average diva.
21 year old Welsh-born Anusha attended the same school as Charlotte Church and Jem and was also a member of the Sherman Theatre Youth Group and 'The Colours of Brazil' where Brazilian Dance was a large influence. Now she has shed her choirgirl roots and is ready to launch her hot debut single ‘R u Ready’ on the world. Anusha set an introductory feeler on the UK with 'Freeze'. The track is stll storming radio and reached No.9 in the Urban Radio and Club charts. Already chosen as cover star of the Eastern Eye, Anusha’s unique style is set to take over this summer with her debut release 'R U Ready'.
Anusha's debut single was written & produced by Chris "Rockizm" Patrick - the force behind Naila Boss and Jayme ‘Blue Jeans’, as well as US Remixes for the likes of Neyo, DMX, Jamie Foxx, Megan Rochell, and Lyfe Jennings. She has even caught the eye of P.Diddy, and become the first UK artist to watch out for in 2007 on his new ' The Stage’ myspace page.
Taking influence from artists including Mary J, Mariah Carey, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Beyonce, Christina Milian and Amy Winehouse, Anusha’s trademark sound of sensual vocals over addictive beats heralds a major new star of 2007.
