View Full Version : JVP backed PNM oppose to the Newly established Buddhist TV channel

JVP (Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna) backed, Patriotic National Movement (PNM) says it will be a great dangerous situation when opening an Buddhist TV channel in the country.

The JVP Propaganda Secretary Wimal Weerawansa said above statement during a press conference held at Colombo on last 02nd of July. He further said this Buddhist channel will also breaks the inter-religious Fellowship of the country. There is no need an individual channels to any religion, therefore the PNM strongly oppose to the new and first Buddhist channel, he said.

The Co-Secretary of the PNM Gunadasa Amarasekara, Actor Siril Wicremage were also addressed the press.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa was opened the first Buddhist Rupavahini Channel at Vijerama Sambodhi Viharaya on 29th evening. President had a first Rupavahini discussion with the Buddhist Channel. Ven Daranagama Kusaladamma thero, Chief Justis Sarath Nanda Silva, President'Secretary Lalith Weeratunga and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa were, also present at the opening ceremony.

DAMN. Correct.

They are right. you should not have a channel for Buddhits alone :(
