:yes: ya this virus is a big threat to hard disk... u can view the files which has hidden by the virus by going through tools->folder options->View-> hide protected operating system files (recomended) and DECLICK the check box there.. then u can view the hidden files which have converted to exe files by virus..do not access them.... U can delete them and if they are so important use folder recovery tool to get them back without virus... but since the virus in ur machine it will reinfect again...

This virus can crash the hard disk because it runs a never ending loop once u click to any partician in ur hard dick and it starts a seperate process each time u click.. u wont be able to open the disk partians and see the contents of the hard disk because it pop up " open with" window each time u click.. u can open the folder/harddisk window by right clicking on it and through explorer.....


FORMATTING HARD DISK IS THE recomendation...

There is a tool which u can use to remove this virus...

Do not format the disk. This is very small virus. There are many viruses who does this. Actually is it called worm. Try installing a newest antivirus and scan it. If you can not detect it the best this is to plug your hard disk to some other computer which has upto date anvi virus and scan it then you will be able to remove th worm totally.

About the folders you lost they are hidden. When you try to view them using folder options the worm stops you from chnaing the setting by hiding the folder options or by chnaing the "show hidden files" to "do not show hidden files" automatically. After you clean the worm you could get all your lost folders using the folder options.

The exe file you mentioned is the worm. It creates a copy of it every time it is executed.
