Wallabies World Cup fullback Chris Latham was been forced out of Saturday's Brisbane club rugby Grand Final with a groin strain.
Latham, who capped a remarkable comeback from knee surgery by playing in the second half of last weekend's Bledisloe Cup decider against the All Blacks, was due to line up for the Gold Coast Breakers in the Trinity Premier Rugby Grand Final against Sunnybank for the Hospital Cup at Ballymore.
However, Latham strained an adductor muscle at Wallabies training and advised the Breakers that he would not be available for the Grand Final.
An ARU spokesman said Latham is in no danger of missing the World Cup and is expected to be available to play for the East Coast Aces in the first two Mazda Australian Rugby Championship matches next month, before the Wallaby squad leaves for France.
Fellow World Cup squad member Greg Holmes, who has made an equally impressive comeback from shoulder surgery to win a place in the Wallabies squad for France lined up for the Dragons against the Breakers in the season decider.
