W M Dingiri Menika resides at Hapudeniya in the Kegalla District. Three of her children have already sacrificed their lives on behalf of the country. One son is engaged in operations in the North and East. The 5th is undergoing training. She is desirous of handing over her only daughter to the army nursing service. The Ranaviru Seva Authority took the initiative of handing over a cash donation to Dingiri Menika to build a house. She received it at Temple Trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapakse. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Chairman of the Ranaviru Seva Authority Col. Lalith Gunaratne were present on this occasion.

W M Dingiri Menika expressing her views said she is thankful to the president for taking this initiative, as they had no house. She said she is proud over her five sons, who had joined the army.
