Asymmetric DSL:rolleyes: :D  ;)    :)

Most homes and small business users are connected to an asymmetric DSL (ADSL) line. ADSL divides up the available frequencies in a line on the assumption that most Internet users look at, or download, much more information than they send, or upload. Under this assumption, if the connection speed from the Internet to the user is three to four times faster than the connection from the user back to the Internet, then the user will see the most benefit (most of the time).

 :D   ;)   :)

why did you forget about voice ? :D

voice comes in a seperate channel. it has nothing 2 do with ADSL.

voice comes in a seperate channel. it has nothing 2 do with ADSL.

the voice comes in the same frequency range as the normal PSTN service
the difference is the remaining frequency of the copper wire is used for ADSL
thats why we use the splitter(low pass filter) to block the high frequencies when coupled with any kind of Telephone or fax

Why should we? If they are on separate frequency ranges, why separate at all? :P

Why should we? If they are on separate frequency ranges, why separate at all? :P
because the Telephone itself can't separate voice frequency range and ADSL frequency range :P :P

only reason ----> reduce the interference from the higher frequencies to the PSTN channel.
