Early life

She hails from the state of Karnataka, her mother is Sinhala (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinhalese_people) and her father is Tamil (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sri_Lanka_Tamils_%28Indian_origin%29).
