Have used both. Each one is good for different things. IMHO linux is still hard to use and regardless of what the sodding advocates say, eats up memory nearly as much as Windows. Well true you can configure to run it with lesser stuff, but then so can windows.

In windows the problem is to a hardcore system programmer, there isn't much to do. (No Im not talking about ppl who are software developers. Windows has much better IDEs than Linux for that purpose, Im talking about ppl who really deal with the OS) And ofcourse you get a whole set of viruses which are written to run on Windows :)

there are lot of softwares for linux the problem is they are hard to find in software Cds just like windows But u can find them from online repositories
