Since this is my first blog post I will try to keep it as short as I can. I decided to start with a most interesting topic of our time “OS’s”. Microsoft has gained a top of the industry with their product Windows. Unlike other OS’s windows became a revolutionary giant because of its user friendliness and the reliability.
When looking at the history of software development projects, it’s a known fact that the machine demands suitable software to run than vice versa. But Bill Gates Windows changes that history to a OS’s demanded machines. Now we have to buy hardware according to the desired OS’s we need to run. Let’s take few examples from the gaming industry to clarify this.
“Windows 95 is a consumer-oriented graphical user interface-based operating system. It was released on August 24, 1995 by Microsoft, and was a significant progression from the company's previous Windows products. During development it was referred to as Windows 4.0 or by the internal codename Chicago” Wikipedia.
Windows 95 needed System of,
Personal computer with a 386DX or higher processor (486 recommended)
• 4 megabytes (MB) of memory (8 MB recommended)
• 35-40 MB HDD
• VGA or higher resolution (256-color SVGA recommended)
At the same time period Electronic Arts released the first block of its revolutionary racing game series Need for Speed I: 1995. It was written on Windows 95 platform to run successfully. System requirements were same as the most demanded PC for the Windows 95 of that time. Since then there began a unbelievable relativity and a strange similarity between these two products. Let’s look and the product specifications for clarification.

As you can see slowly the customs have changed that the machine demands culture to OS’s or the Windows demand the machine to run it properly. Thus the revolution of the hardware came in to being many powerful machines were produced. Need for speed has the unbelievable similarity with the windows when looking at its product line. It has demanded a PC to run on same way the windows did. Both productions took place at the same time period. Development is quite similar of both products with the time and both supported running on old machines until for some times then became the state “not supported”. This proves that the Microsoft Windows is similar to a game than an OS’s.
