"AMD has some internal documents where the company is thinking about a triple core CPU. This is not the first time to hear about this and last summer we heard that Intel wants to go the same road but we could not find the confirmation for that interesting strategy.
Well now we can confirm that at least AMD is thinking about three core K10 currently known as Phenom X3.
The story behind it quite simple, there is a market demand for triple cores and AMD will fulfill this demand. If this happens you can bet that Intel will go the same road, at least as X3 becomes a successful one."
