Why is my anti-virus alerting me that this software is a virus?
Upon downloading our software, you may receive a "vital" warning from your commercial anti-virus product (Such as McAfee and Symantec) claiming that our software is a virus OR spyware. Please disregard and ignore any of these messages. We can assure you that our software is NOT a virus, nor have we put a virus into our products.
If the software is not a virus, why am I being warned?
For one reason: false classification. You are receiving this error because the virus scanner does not like keyloggers. If your virus scanner detects keyloggers, it will begin to warn you that the program is a virus. Whenever possible, simply "instruct" your anti-virus program to "Allow the program to run." Once you allow it to run on your system, it won't give you problems ever again.
What if my anti-virus attempts to delete the program upon downloading?
If your anti-virus does not allow you to download our software, we strongly recommend you uninstall your current anti-virus software and install a more advanced, secure, and reliable virus-scanning product. It is always a good idea to invest in an advanced virus scanner, rather than one you have little to no control over. Limited security can cost a lot of money and headaches. A solid and reliable virus-scanner is the most important installation you can ever make on your PC (next to our software of course). You can find our recommended anti-virus of choice is below.
What other types of software are falsely identified?
The following types of software are generally detected and flagged by anti-virus scanners:
Any Software that captures or monitors keystrokes (such as KeyloggerPRO).
Any Software that captures and/or monitors computer activity (such as SpyBuddy).
Any Software that allows you to recover or extract forgotten passwords from personal backups
Any Software that monitors internet or network activity (such as an IP sniffer, network diagnostic tools, etc).
Any Software that allows you to access or control your PC remotely from another location (such as PcAnywhere, GotoMyPC, and NETObserve).
Any Software that acts as any type of server, such as an FTP server, a mailserver (POP3/SMTP), or file server.
