Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said, an army point at Thalgasmankada, South of Paanama has come under a terrorist' attack this evening. The sources said that the attack has started around 6 p.m.

AMPARA: LTTE CADRES FLEEING FROM THOPPIGALA ATTACKED the Army THALGASMANKADA detachment south of POTHUVIL around 6.00 p.m. this evening (15).

A jeep belonging to the Wild Life Department was also fired upon by the LTTE terrorists. However, Wild Life officers have retaliated and returned safely, the Army said.

There are no reports of damages so far.

Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said, an army point at Thalgasmankada, South of Paanama, came under a terrorist' attack this evening. The sources further said that troops have successfully foiled the attack that took place around 6.p.m.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the withdrawing terrorists have opened fire at a jeep belonging to wildlife protection department. The officials of the wildlife protection department also have retaliated to the attack compelling the terrorists to flee further into the jungle.

MCNS said that the attackers are those LTTE cadres who are stranded in the Jungles in Ampara district after their debacle in Thoppigala.
