View Full Version : ANTIVIRUS ? What is the best
what is the best antivirus now on ? I think Panda 2008 is a good one..
but it is slowing down
the computer too much..
Kaspersky & Nod32 are better with the speeds & protection ..

Kaspersky, NOD32, AVG are good :D
Windows Vista Defender is also a cool tool :D which comes default with the OS :)
Install WinPatrol as well :)
Kaspersky always answers allow or deny offline html files..thats very unfair to
me..NOD 32 is so good , but it has been not detects one of a trojan in my pen Drive sometimes.. now I'm usin AVG

Symantec or Norton might be the best in terms of an ANTI VIRUS perspective...
But due to the high resource usage :S :S :S

yes I agreed.
But Norton doesn't even allow to send ICMP (ping) any one to your machine.
It blocks dozens of viruses, trojans and also attempts to hack you

Use WinPartol for that purpose... Pretty cool and a light weight SW ;)

Best virus guard is common sense and rules of general computing (eg: don't use an admin account for normal use). You don't need a software virus guard.

I think u can't get a best answer for ur question here. A single user cannot review all the virus protecting software on the earth. The best way to find out what is the best is, do a google search for some good antivirus review websites or refer some computer magazines like PC World, PC Magazine. They do benchmark tests on Antivirus Software and publish detailed results. Don't rely on a single source, find more places and compare the results. Then only u can get a good answer for your question.

I have used some antiviruses
Trend Micro Pc Cillin - Acceptable but it freezes your system if you click on a huge archive file.
Norton 2007 - Slows down system
Norton 360 - quite good, but it still quite slow
Kaspersky - is the good one i found to date
