November 22, 2007: The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed Agreements for 18 new projects. Mr. Dhammika Perera, Chairman/ Director General, signed the Agreement on behalf of the BOI. Hon Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion formally presented the investor with the BOI Certificates of Registrations.
The 18 agreements signed by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka are for a total investment of US $ 62 million. These projects cover a wide range of sectors and will be generating an estimated 2000 new employment opportunities.

Laugfs Leisure Limited
Laughfs Leisure Limited, a project under Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Programme is to set up a small luxury hotel located at Chilaw. The project sponsored by Laugfs Holdings Limited is an investment of Rupees 500 million. The venture is expected to provide 300 employment opportunities.
Golden Monarch Residencies (Private) Limited
The agreement signed with Golden Monarch Residencies (Pvt) Limited is for a construction of an apartment complex. The project will be sponsored by Swarnamahal Property Developers (Pvt) Limited and Swarnamahal Financial Services (Pvt) Limited. The US $ 13.6 million apartment complex will be located at Thalwaththa, Kandy.
Ranfer Teas (Private) Limited
Ranfer Teas (Pvt) Limited signed an agreement to establish a Regional Operating Headquarters. The US $ 250,000 project will be located in Colombo 9.
Lalan International Trading (Private) Limited
An agreement to set up an Export Trading House was signed with Lalan International Trading (Pvt) Limited. The project located at Biyagama Export Processing Zone is an investment of US $ 10 million.
D. R. Furniture Manufacturing (Private) Limited
D. R. Furniture Manufacturing (Pvt) Limited signed an agreement to manufacture furniture for the local market. The project located at Pannala, Kurunegala is an investment of Rupees 151 million. The venture is expected to provide employment opportunities for 500. The project will be sponsored by D R Manufacturing (Pvt) Limited and D R Furniture (Pvt) Limited
Titansoft Lanka (Private) Limited
An agreement to develop software for export was signed with Titansoft Lanka (Pvt) Limited. The US $ 150,000 is an investment from Singapore. The venture located at Colombo 3 is expected to provide employment for 30.
Thermofil (Private) Limited
Thermofil (Pvt) Limited signed an agreement to manufacture polyester wadding for the export market. 80 % of the polyester wadding will be exported. The project located at Horakele Estate, Dunagaha is an investment of US $ 1 million. The project will provide employment for 53.
Asia Pacific Vocational Training Institute (Private) Limited
An agreement to set up an Information Technology and Business English Institute was signed with Asia Pacific Vocational Training Institute (Pvt) Limited. The investment of US $ 159,292 is sponsored by S. R. Success International Institute (Pvt) Limited. The institute located at Embuldeniya, Nugegoda will provide employment for a workforce of 80.
Eves Information Technology Lanka (Private) Limited
The agreement signed with Eves Information Technology Lanka (Pvt) Limited is to develop software for the export market. The project sponsored by Aitken Spence & Company Limited is an investment of US $ 150,000. The venture will be located in Colombo 2.
Edna Cocoa Products (Private) Limited
Edna Cocoa Products (Private) Limited signed an agreement to process cocoa beans and extract derivatives from cocoa seeds mainly for the export market. The investment valued at US $ 610,000 is sponsored by Edna Cocoa Products (Pvt) Limited. The factory will be located at Hendala, Palliyawatte while the stores will be located at Hunupitiya. The venture will be providing employment opportunities for 60.
D. R. Particle (Private) Limited
An agreement to manufacture Particle Boards (chipboards) using wood off cuts and saw dust for the export market was signed with D. R. Particle (Pvt) Limited. The US $ 1.6 million project will be located at Awissawella. The venture is expected to provide employment opportunities for a work force of 120.
Ruksara (Private) Limited
A project under Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Programme, Ruksara (Pvt) Limited is a large scale agriculture project. The investment of US $ 20 million is expected to provide employment opportunities for 500. The project would be located at Nugegalayaya, Sevenagala, Maharagama, Kudaoya, Divulkadayaya and Kahambana, Monaragala
Lanka Eastern Ice Company (Private) Limited
Lanka Eastern Ice Company (Pvt) Limited, a project under Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Programme is a project to set up cold rooms and ice plants. The plants located at Ampara and Batticaloa is expected to provide employment for 50. This project is an investment of Rupees 51 million.
Hotel Shanthi Nilaya (Private) Limited
Hotel Shanthi Nilaya (Pvt) Limited, a project under Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Programme is a project to set up 25 room luxury hotel at Kahandamodara, Ranna. The Rupees 179 million investment will provide employment for opportunities for 50.
Samadee Housing and Property Development (Private) Limited
An agreement with Samadee Housing and Property Development (Pvt) Limited was signed for the construction of apartment complexes located at Colombo 10 and Mulleriyawa. This is an investment of US $ 3.6 million.
Aspic Development (Private) Limited
An agreement with Aspic Developments (Pvt) Limited was signed for the construction of residential apartment complexes located at Dehiwala and Mount Lavinia. This is an investment of US $ 2.3 million.
Logilink (Private) Limited
An agreement to undertake import de-consolidation, export consolidation and provide value added services to exporters was signed with Logilink (Pvt) Limited. The US $ 2 million project will be located at Welisara.
Affno Asia Pacific (Private) Limited
Affno Asia Pacific (Pvt) Limited signed an agreement to set up a business process outsourcing centre (BPO) at Colombo 7. This is an investment of Rupees 16 million.
Hon Dr. Sarath Amunugama addressing the media said that he was grateful to the BOI for speedy process of approving new investment. He also said that out of the Nipayum Sri Lanka 300 Enterprise Programme around 290 have been approved and more that 100 have started construction.
