New York, 29 November, (Asiantribune.com): UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has voiced outrage at yesterday's twin suicide attacks in the Sri Lankan capital, which have killed or wounded dozens of people, and of the aerial assault on a United Nations aid office in the far north of the troubled country. The statement from Mr. Ban's spokesperson noted that he was also concerned about yesterday's aerial attack in the town of Kilinochchi in which the office of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) was damaged.

"The Secretary-General condemns the suicide attacks that occurred today (28 November) in Colombo, Sri Lanka -- one outside the Ministry of Social Services and another in Nugegoda district -- which have killed and wounded dozens of civilians. He offers his condolences to the families and friends of the victims. He is also concerned about an aerial attack yesterday which damaged the office of the United Nations World Food Programme in Kilinochchi" the statement said.
