How to write cds that can't be rewritten

I think that most of u have come across some cds that can't be rewritten. How can we make them. By adding any script? I think you've seen such a thing in some kind of digital magazine which comes on a cd. When we check the properties it shows 720 mb. But we cant copy all the things at once. Only image making do a help. The cd is written in a normal AL 700 mb cd. I wonder how do they write 720 mb on a 700 mb cd.
In advance, what is over burning and how does it helps us?

ya theres way. firts of all u had to create a image of the original CD and store it in ur computer. (i use ulter iso to create image) then used demon tool and mount the image of the cd one of the virtual cd drivers. den used any burning software and burn CD. this works for me..

Machan overburning is an option capable of writion 900MB on a CD.
If u are using Nero go to OPTIONS and Change the maximum Burning time 95Mins.
Then when writing a cd Nreo will ask whether u want to over burn. Click yes.

This is not possible. You have 3 CD types:
Stamped CDs (mass manufactured CDs which do not react to a CD burner laser),
CD-R (blank CD has a transperent dye layer which you can use a CD writer's laser to burn, and make opaque for each bit, this is an irreversible process.. so you can only write once).
CD-RW (the dye layer can be changed back and forth between transperent and opaque)You can only rewrite on CD-RW, the process used to create Stamped CD's and CD-R is not reversible.

Although CD's say 700MB the CD track keeps going further depending on the CD brand from 750 to 900. As shehanoki, most software allow you to force the writer to overburn.

some CD's show more than 1GB coz they use that file pointer thing to cope up with duplicated files.
If there are 2 similar files (e.g. same Desktop.ini) the file can be replaced internally by a pointer. But the size of the file is shown as it was there.

I hope i'm not repeating something you already know and have perfected. :)

Well wait till some IT expert replies u! I dont know an answer 4 da first question. But Overburning actually is not recommended...coz u might be able 2 have more data in the CD but the chances of the burning to fail or your data to be corrupted will be high
