THE CREST
The base of the logo is the crest. This is also the base for a shield or a coat of arms or a badge. It epitomizes pride: it is a matter of pride to be awarded a sh ield or to be wearing a badge on one’s chest. In fact, most of our National awards come in the form of badges that are worn on the chest. Most contests have a shield as an award. Thus this symbol is the mark of a brave winner.

THE BANNER
The peak of the crest showcases a banner with the letter sequence ‘K.J.H.P.H’ inscribed on the same. These letters stand for Kashmir, Jammu, Himachal, Punjab and Haryana, in the same sequence as they appear on the map of India. While our name may only have ‘Punjab’ as an intrinsic part, it is all these states that our team proudly represents. The word ‘Punjab’ in the name stands more for the fun and aggressive mindset, which has come to be associated with people of the region.

THE LIONS
These lions bring to life the phrase ‘Sher-e-Punjab’, which literally means ‘Lions of Punjab’. Punjabis like to see themselves as brave, royal and with huge hearts, qualities best epitomized by a lion. These reflect in their loud, hospitable and gallant culture. Symbolically, the two lions represent Maharaj Ranjit Singh, the most intelligent and powerful ruler of North India and the erstwhile Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh. The latter was the first Indian to lead an Indian cricket team to Lord’s in 1911 and was instrumental in setting up of the BCCI.

Thus, together the two lions depict the strength & fierceness of the Punjabi and the desire to excel in cricket.

THE SUN AROUND THE XI
This signifies the fact that our playing XI will shine on field, just like the Sun.

THE TWO BALLS
They bring to the logo our reason for existence: cricket

With so many key players not certain to play, No's 3 and 4, the Sri Lankan pair of Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, will assume plenty of significance. Sangakkara was the team's second highest run-scorer in South Africa with 332 runs at 30.18, with two half-centuries, while Jayawardene proved of immense value in a couple of extremely tight chases. Jayawardene doesn't seem a Twenty20 prototype but can clear the boundary with wristy elegance. In the domestic Twenty20 tournament at home, he opened the batting for Wayamba and even scored 91 off 49 balls in the final. Sangakkara has of late evolved into a fabulous Twenty20 player. machan prob is Shaun Marsh and Yuvaraj will probably miss the first few games.

All the batsmen are struggling,Jayasuriya,Dilshan ruled out from their teams.
Jayawardana also retaining his spot thanks to Sanga:dull::nerd:,and Sanga either nothing doing much...
So same as the last WC,we have to depend on our bowling,last year there was at least Dili inform.This time nothing!!!:(
High time to give a chance for Kulatunga and Chandimal.
BTW bowlers are doing really well,Malinga,Murali,Thushara and Mathews.

Yeah those kind of things happen in T20 format but Hope Dilshan & some young guys play well in WC --- if they click in WC then who cares abt IPL ha ha ha I sure one of these batsmen will performe in WC ~~~~

As for the bowling last time it was only malinga who was rocking the IPL , but this time Murali's the purple cap holder, Matthews, Tushara r all in good form. MAlinga despite having not too many wickets is in good form.
