VGA and Hard Disk Problem??? HELP ME GUYS!!

Hi guys....

Im getting few errors in my PC and cant find any information considering on the web 2, so thought u guys might knw smthn.
Following is my PC's configuration.

CPU - AMD Athlon 64 (939 Socet) 3000+
MotherBoard - Chaintech
RAM - 512MB DDR1 Kingston PC3200
VGA - Eagle NVIDIA AGP 128MB FX5200 (Doesnt have a cooling fan, only heatsink)
HardDisk - White label - 40GB SATA1
OpticalDrives - 1.Sony DVD-RW
2.Samsung Combo
Monitor - Viewsonic 19inch widescreen LCD (VA1912w)

Question No.1

My displays getting colourful lines and dots sll over @ everytime(booting and when in windows)
I cant play games. Sometimes i can hardly play games but the games seem to be draged away.I mean its like a puzzle. :baffled: :baffled: :baffled:
I have attached a screen shot below.

I dont know whats wrong with it.
Its pins are clean. No dirt.
Its heatsinks get very hot few mins after booting the computer from the day i brought this PC in Octomber 2005.
Please post if you know anything that i can do. guys..

Its with my hard disk.y
When my old hard disk was broken. I got this hard disk from the place I brought it until they replace it.
From few weeks, my hard disk gave this problem the same tym when da VGa got its error(Q no.1)
It gets stuck suddenly. And I Have to RESET.Then it usually starts again. I got this error atleast once a day.
But recently, it gave the following error, when booting.

NLTDR can open disks multi(0) disk(0)

I cant even reinstall Windows XP coz i have to install SATA drivers using a floppy disk while setup.But recently it the setup doesnt recognize my hard disk.
BUT MY HARD DISK GETS DETECTED IN BIOS AND ANY OTHER PLACE.

First try your VGA card on another machine. If it works fine its no VGA problem. But I'm prtty sure it is VGA problem.

once you put another VGA card, Try system for few hours to see if the second error also related to that. Usually those lines on VGA comes when memory chips on VGA get messed up. I had that experience with one of my old VGA (Sis 315 128M). But it does not caused any other problems other than colourd lines in the monitor.

If still your system stcks there may be another problem. Anyway just try to fix VGA error first.

AFAIK, your VGA has gone bad. This heavy artifacting occurs when the RAM on the VGA goes bad! I've had this happen to two of my VGAs!!!

About the hard disk....I think it is better to try and reproduce the same behaviour on another PC, just to make sure that it IS the HARD DISK that is causing trouble.

Remember, memory corruption can also cause weird boot time errors. (Have seen this many times when I tried overclocking the RAM out of their max capabilities) That sort thing could lead to temporary file corruption (where it will be fixed when you reboot with good RAM), or if you are very unlucky, it could lead the permanent file corruption (where you have to reinstall/repair the OS to correct it, with good RAM).

i tried a AGP ATI 32MB card and it worked fine.

mata kiyapan ko 128MB AGP honda card ekak priceut ekka. Rs.5000ta aduwen.

Could've happened due to high temperature or not-so-high-quality VGA memory...yeah, it's just bad luck. You burn normal RAM all the time.

Come on, what you burned is just a cheap VGA card. What I burned like that was a really expensive one :(

i think for 75% - u hav a problem in ur monitor... not da vga. chk it out or try using another monitor( u can borrow one from ur frends) if its still there, then da vga. these kind of problems can only be solved by checking the devices step by step. first start frm th emonitor if no chk da vga

question 2:

it has nothing to do with ur eralier problem. the ntldr file (system file) has been deleted (probably bythe antivirus or U>>>) so u wont be able to boot. best way is to recover the file using the xp cd.

boot frm xp and press R on the welcome screen
when u goto the command menu type

copy drive:\i386\ntldr c:\

copy drive:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

(overwrite if asked)

ur done: reboot.

The card that I bought after that burnt card was given to a cousin, because I bought a new PC with PCI-E. That cousin isnot a hardcore gamer and 90-95% of the times his PC is turned off. But, now that card also is giving this same problem. :(

Anyway the base of your trouble may be your 'EAGLE' brand. They are usually cheap but they are junk. To avoid problems from your father better to buy a good vga with 3 years warrenty (say Azus). So that you can avoid such problems hopefully for 3 years.:rofl:

However, the two cards I had the problems with RAM going bad (Radeon 9700Pro and 9600Pro) were both from Gigabyte...They are a tier 1 manufacturer, so I dunno...I guess it's more luck and temperature than the brand...
of course Tier 1 products will give a slightly better performance and quality such as good cooling etc.

However, the two cards I had the problems with RAM going bad (Radeon 9700Pro and 9600Pro) were both from Gigabyte...They are a tier 1 manufacturer, so I dunno...I guess it's more luck and temperature than the brand...
of course Tier 1 products will give a slightly better performance and quality such as good cooling etc.

Nope...this is problem inside the RAM chips of the VGA card; NOT a problem with the VGA card. I have heard that some people replace memory chips on VGAs, but don't know for sure...maybe you can try and find out.
