එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික් අපේක්ෂක සුසිල් කි‍ඳෙල්පිටිය මහතා මිරිහාන පොලිසිය විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත. පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක ක්‍රිශාන්ත ජයකොඩි මහතා පැවසුවේ ඊයේ රාත්‍රියේ ලැබුණු පැමිණිල්ලක් මත කි‍‍ඳෙල්පිටිය මහතා අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් බවයි.

ඊයේ රාත්‍රියේදී මිරිහාන පොලිසියට ඔහුට විරුද්ධව පැමිණීල්ලක් ලැබුණු බවත්, එයට අදාලව සුසිල් කි‍ඳෙල්පිටිය ම හතා අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් බවත්, වැඩිදුර පරීක්ෂණ සිදු කෙරෙමින් පවතින බවත් ‍පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශකවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.

The Mirihana Police arrested UNP Colombo District candidate, former journalist Susil Kindelpitiya today (1) following a complaint lodged a by woman claiming to have been abused and threatened by him.

Police Spokesperson SP Preshantha Jayakody said Susil was arrested in the morning following a complaint lodged by a woman, who had claimed to be Susil’s mistress for the past two years. She had said he had abused and threatened her and had requested for the police to intervene, as she feared for her life.

According to the woman, Susil had abused several other women and she feared for her life since he possessed several illegal firearms as well.

Jayakody said when the police finally caught up with Susil this morning, he had been with another young woman and a Navy deserter and had also been possession of an illegal pistol.

Susil entered politics this year after resigning from Sirasa media network where he functioned as the News Director.
Mirihana Police is conducted further investigations.
