Sanath Jayasuriya has topped the UPFA preferential vote list by obtaining 74,352 votes while Buddhika Pathirana topped the UNP list with 62,499 votes, Returning Officer of the Matara District W.K.K. Athukorala told Ada Derana.

UPFA’s Nishantha on top, UNP heads roll in Galle?

The maverick former Southern Provincillor Nishantha Muthuhettigama is topping the preference vote list of the UPFA in Galle, sources say while Ramesh Pathirana, former Minister Richard Pathirana’s son is maintaining the second place.

However, the UNF’s Vajira Abeywardene and spokesman Gayantha Karunaratne are on the fence for the two seats in the district where Manusha Nanayakkara is heading the list. Krishantha Pushpakumara also called ‘Raththaran’ is in the fourth place, according to sources.
