The demonstration was organized to protest against UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour.
"Any such foreign intervention would be over our dead bodies," emphasized Weerawansa. He accused Arbour of actively working for Sri Lanka's bisection and charged that the UN is treating Sri Lanka like Kosovo, Sudan and East Timor.

The demonstrators held placards and shouted slogans that said:
• Arbour, keep the assistance to yourself!
• Neo- Colonialist Arbour, keep hands off Sri Lanka!
• Arrest the Tigers hiding in your home country Canada!
• Don't try to establish Neo Colonialism in Sri Lanka!

Your Excellency,
Our indefatigable UN Human Rights Chief from Canada, The High Commissioner Louise Arbour not seeing the mote in her eye wants to interfere in Sri Lanka. She is backed by foreign funded local NGOs, more correctly Foreign Government Organizations FGOs. Without any local base, FGOs are essentially foreign spy agencies performing the function of missionaries in colonial times - doing the West’s colonial bidding.
But there are a few home truths that have to be told to The High Commissioner Arbour from Canada, a land stolen from the original inhabitants by genocide, plunder, and deceit and the major foreign home to the genocidal LTTE terrorists.
When The High Commissioner Arbour came to meet the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP - People's Liberation Front) of Sri Lanka, recently, when she was in Sri Lanka, we asked her pointedly why she does not condemn the US invasion of Iraq which according to the authoritative medical journal Lancet killed over 700,000 Iraqis. We asked her about persecuting the US for keeping one-fourth of her blacks in prison. She smiled as if to say she was only a mercenary in the paid human rights charade identified as such by the eminent US author Noam Chomsky. The victims mentioned by us fall into the category of Chomsky’s unworthy victims.
Although for 500 years, we Sri Lankans got a “kind” European treatment as did native First Nation Canadians, our spirit was not fully broken. Even in the darkest days, the spirit of resistance burnt bright in some of us. The JVP is a reservoir of that resistance. Asia is now rising, the JVP and Sri Lanka is part of that rise. The JVP in the coming months will team up with those native First Nation Canadians who want to indict Canada for genocide. More than anything else, we want to send a message to the likes of The High Commissioner Arbour that we will not stand for any Kosovo type colonialism.
