1. Go to Start –> Run –> Type in CMD
2. You will get a command prompt. Enter these commands the way it is given
3. cd\
4. cd\ windows\system32
5. mkdir temphack
6. copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr
7. copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe
8. del logon.scr
9. rename cmd.exe logon.scr
10. exit

Download Hiren's Boot CD image and write the CD

Boot from it
Select "Password Tools" from the CD menu

Then select "Active Password Changer"

with it you can remove any windows password

winxp - disable simple file sharing from tools -> folder option -> view
right click on access denied folder -> properties -> security (visible after simple fs disabled) -> advanced -> owner -> changed the ownership/permision to your account

guest accounts are not allowed and winxp pro only

where are your documents kept. ? Is it in the same drive as the OS ???
If not you can easily format the OS drive & re install the OS & your data will not be lost.

p.s - if your documents are encrypted then sorry.com

Its always a good practice to keep your documents in a seperate drive from the OS.

there is a xp password reset software which reset the password to 12345. but when U do that your encrypted docs will be lost for ever. :( :( :(

U can use ophcrack live CD to bruteforce the password with Rainbow tables if the password is a short one..or else its not practicle taking in some cases years to crack a password more than 11chars long....one easy method is to use a bootable linux disc to rest the SAM file of the os there are a lot of tools of this kind arround the web some use floppy discs some use DC ROMs i reccomend using the floppy disc method cuz it load only a few drivers and it works like a charm...if u have SATA drives u may need additional drivers...
this is the tool i use all the time during my work its very handy and it just works

but please read the instructions before doing anything or else ull end up with a currupt windows installation...happy recovery mate
